Chris Bateman, Head of School
Chris Bateman began work as Oconee Chritian Academy's Head of School in March, 2018.
Mr. Bateman previously served as Head of School at Cathedral Academy in Charleston, SC, where he successfully increased enrollment, strengthened and balanced the budget, improved the academic rigor and curriculum, and increased athletic and fine arts opportunities. At the forefront of his administration at Cathedral was his commitment to maintaining the school’s philosophy of Kingdom education which builds the students’ Biblical worldview through a partnership of the home, church and school.
In addition to serving as a Christian school administrator, Mr. Bateman has also been a teacher, chaplain, alumni director, special events coordinator, and athletic director at Christian Heritage School in Dalton, GA.
Mr. Bateman’s family will be joining him in Seneca this summer. He and his wife Chanda have been married for 23 years, and they have three children, Carley, Cameron, and Chandler.
Scott Glenn, Vice Principal for Academics
Scott Glenn is the Vice Principal of Academics for Oconee Christian Academy. He has served at Oconee Christian as both a teacher and administrator for over 8 years. He previously served as the youth minister at Bounty Land Baptist Church in Seneca, and as minister of outreach and evangelism at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Stockbridge, GA.
Scott earned his Associates of Arts degree from Anderson University, a Bachelor of Arts in Math Education from Southern Wesleyan University, and a Masters of Arts degree in Religion and Education from Mid-America Theological Seminary.
He and his wife Jennifer have three children who are Oconee Christian students, Joshua, Sarah Brittany, and Emma. When not at school, Scott enjoys spending time with his family and coaching sports. Scott attends Crossgate Church in Seneca.
Carol Smith, Vice Principal of Instruction
Carol Smith joined the Oconee Christian Academy staff in 2003 following her retirement from public education. She taught Spanish at Oconee Christian for 12 years, and then joined the school administrative team. Carol earned her Bachelors of Arts degree with certification in Spanish and English, and her Masters of Arts degree in Administration and Supervision, both from Clemson University.
Carol has a son, Kyle (Jennifer) and two grandchildren. Her hobbies include taking care of her four dogs. She is a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
